Coastal Living Contest

Here is the September issue of Coastal Living complete with the picture of KJ's feet from the "Capture the Coast" photo contest that I was the second runner up for. KJ got an entire page to himself and by now word of his famous feet has swept the nation. KJ is taking his foot modeling popularity in stride saying that, "I don't believe that it's going to change me at all - I'm the same little fella who likes to eat with my hands and laugh at Ellie's burps." Enjoy.

It's fall and that means one thing...college football season is almost hear!!! Everyone is excited, as you can see from KJ's Heismen pose here. Ellie is not as excited but she is eating up the Olympic Games. Her favorite has been the syncronized diving and the gymnastics. She was convinced that it was her calling until she found out that I could not dive holding her. Have a great week.

Summertime is winding down here in Bama.  The constant sweating, shorts, tee shirts and the electric buzz from the large and active insect community are soon to be relics of seasons passed. Ellie celebrated summers end by getting her haircut short and KJ by getting "layers" put in his. We went downtown to eat and had a little fun before the sun went down. You can see that KJ handles the heat like his father and that Ellie is still cute, even in prison. Nothing but love. Enjoy and God bless.

Earlier in the week I was able to take some pictures of the band "Act of Congress" for some of their promotional pieces. They're great people and we had a lot of fun on an overcast day shooting in downtown BIrmingham.  Aside from being great people they're also extremely talented musicians...you can check them out at www.myspace.com\actofcongress . They're also on ITUNES and they have a full length CD coming out in September. Check them out sometime.

I love this shot of KJ and Ellie because, what are they doing? It is a great reminder of the incredible gift of personality that God gave each of us. Right now all Ellie wants to do with me is "talk", which means I tell her ridiculous stories and she asks ridiculous questions while I'm no good to KJ unless I'm on my feet with a ball in hand, or something else at least mildly amusing. Happy summer.

July is known as the month of heat, vacations and humidity that inevitably accompanies the heat. July is an exciting month around the Coliron home. It's Ellie's birthday and Paula and my anniversary (7.9.04). Two kids and four years later I am still very much in love with my wonderful wife who is as gracious and elegant as ever. So here's to four years of good times mixed with hard times that only made the good times taste even sweeter. Here's to two sweet, tender, easy going children. Here's to July.

This weekend Ellie celebrated the big THREE!!! Party hats, cake, bubbles, friends and presents equals one excited little girl. She was so excited in fact that she really didn't know what to do when all the attention was on her. All in all it was a great day though, KJ  even got in on the action thinking that the party was for him.  Here are some pictures from the big day.

We hope eveyrone is well - I found out today that the picture to your right has won third place in the "Capture the Coast" ametuer photo contest for Coastal Living. KJ's feet will be displayed in the September issue. Other than that Ellie has a stomach bug and KJ almost knocked himself out yesterday trying out for the Bejing Olympics on the couch. But it's all part of a very wonderful life. God bless everyone and have a wonderful day!

Happy summer - thought you'd enjoy this picture of Ellie and KJ from the Spring at Rosemary Beach. They're growing up so fast it seems...last night Ellie fell asleep on me sitting on the couch and it was just about the most wonderful feeling in the world. The other day I was joking with KJ and told him to take his shoes off and put them in his cubby - to my amazement, he picked up his shoes and walked them right to his cubby, looked at me, smiled and then brought his shoes to me. Close enough I suppose. Hope you're having a great summer!

Greetings - we had an incredible Fourth of July here in Alabama. Sidenote - it was a nice day, which is uncommon this time of year, it was so nice that all the bugs  came out. As you can see, Ellie and KJ were cautiously excited about the fireworks and sparklers. But once they got over the initial frightening novelty they had a blast watching their father break every firework rule. I'm glad I still have hands. We hope you had a great Fourth,  here are a few pictures from our weekend in Hayden, AL. God bless - Kellen, Paula, Ellie and KJ the fearless.

Last night was the fourth on the second at Church of the Highlands and it was a great time. We had over 8,000 people on the property for the fireworks show and service. The best part of the night was watching Ellie and KJ enjoy the fireworks show - they were both awestruck and KJ even took a cue from some tweeners a few blankets over with the tradition of "ooing" and "awing" for the fireworks which as you can see were very, very cool. It was truly a great evening. We hope everyone is well. Oh - one more thing - i entered the picture below for an ametuer photo contest for the magazine "COASTAL LIVING" a few months ago and got a call on Tuesday saying I was one of the finalists and that I'll find out in the next two weeks if we win. I was very excited by the news.

God bless - Kellen, Paula, KJ and Ellie

6.30.08

Thought you'd enjoy seeing Ellie in her "eye glasses", as she so accurately calls them.

6.27.08

We hope everyone is well. I changed the home page with everything on it to the "Archives 6/08 Back". I did it for two reasons, one that it wouldn't take so long to load up initially on everyone's computers and two because I am bored. It's got everything on it it had last week for your Coldiron family watching convenience. As for us, we're just getting ready for the fourth of July and our four year anniversary!!!! Hopefully KJ can hang that late (On the Fourth that is). The kids are doing well too - Ellie and KJ have been doing some swimming (or leaching) lately. KJ loves the water so much and Ellie loves it in theory. Ellie is is the first to ask to swim and the first to ask to get out of the water when it's game time. Hm.
God bless you all - Kellen, Paula, Ellie and KJ
