It's finally here. After a great Thanksgiving weekend the Coldiron home is in full Christmas gear. Ellie even remarked today that "Christmas is tomorrow". For her it might feel like it - she picked out the tree today and we put it up in the play room this year. KJ is a big fan and loves to show his excitement by taking off ornaments and asking, "What's that dadda?". Here are a few shots from around the Coldiron home from our annual Christmas makeover. This week I'll have to post a few pictures of the kids in their elf hats and boa they've been wearing. We hope everyone is well and blessed this Holiday season - Kellen, Paula, Ellie and KJ the festive.

Here are a few more pictrures from our Christmas Card shoot the other day. We finalized our Christmas card and these gems were left on the cutting room floor. However, I did not want them to go to waste, so here they are. Two wonderful individuals doing what they do best - looking cute.

Here is a sneak peek at our family Christmas Card shoot last night. You can see from this stunning picture that I tried to do a "self family portrait". That meant that it was time to put my self timer to use for the first time - and it wasn't the smoothest introduction to it as you can see. I ended up getting the hang of it and we got some good pictures. Tall people - they can be so hard to work with. More soon.

I am a bad blog updater and I have to apologize. Things have been moving pretty fast as of late. But in the last two weeks you have all probably forgotten what the children look like so I will give you a glimpse into their development once again. Here are some of their new pictures from around the house - a favorite hang out spot of theirs. They've been spending more time here lately because of the cold that keeps rotating around the house. We've all had a turn these last few weeks, some of us more than once. So cheers from the infirmary called, The Coldiron Home.

Today was almost 80 degrees and it is the beginning of November. Someone needs to notify someone about this. The only advantage to it not feeling like winter has been being able to do some fun things outside with the kids. We went to the zoo this weekend and had a blast with Ellie naming animals and counting them too, she informed me that there we seven sea lions, "one, two, seven Dadda." KJ has never said, "what's that?" so many time in his life ether. Here is Great Depression hat KJ and Ellie at their finest. God bless, Kellen, Paula, Ellie and KJ Doolittle

Here are a couple of sweet moments with the kids this last week. Lot's happening around here these days with the holidays coming up and the kids starting college soon. I say that because Ellie can now say her alphabet which means that college isn't far behind. Also, KJ can say football, which means that he's not far behind. Hope all is well with you today. God bless, Kellen, Paula, Ellie and KJ the verbal

This morning we made our annual trip to the Hayden, AL Pumpkin Patch. A favorite of adult and kid alike in the Coldiron home. Even more fun now that Ellie can remember last year and all the fun we had riding ponies, trains, the hayride and the picking of the pumpkin at the bargain price of $8 - yes that's right $8 dollars. This year KJ got in on the fun a little more trying to pick up pumpkins roughly the size of, well, him. Ellie finally landed on a smaller one, we rode the train and called it a day. Also - she named the Pumpkin, "Todd".
God bless, Kellen, Paula, Ellie and KJ the pumpkin handler

BUMMER ALERT...BUMMER ALERT. The Weebly page that you are viewing has had a "technical error" and all of the posts from the last couple of months have been deleted. What that means is that I am going to have to put up pictures from the last couple of months beneath the last few posts but won't have all the cute antidotes accompanying them. I urge you to not give up hope but instead keep on trucking. Hope all is well with everyone, better than this blog.

Have you ever wondered what it might be like to live in a different time? What would you dress like? And, most importantly...what would you look like? Thanks to www.yearbookyourself.com I was able to answer that question definitively for Paula and I. Here are the marvelously beautiful results...our blast from the past.

Hope everyone is having a great fall so far. Here are a few new pictures of the kids from a Saturday morning trip downtown - look at KJ's jacket...that's what I'm talking about. He's not even two yet and he's already much cooler than his father.

Last day at the beach and we had an absolutely phenominal week. We capped it all off this morning with a trip to the playground, lounging on the beach and swimming at the pool. We've had such a great time that Ellie now refers to it as, "Ellie's beach". Thank God for a relaxing and wonderful week - see everyone in the real world again soon.
Rosemary Beach pt. 1
Loving every minute of our time at the beach. The kids are eathing it up, when it comes to the sand, literally eating it up. KJ is in love with the water I think more than anything. He is a head first sort of guy and Ellie is a little more passive choosing to stay on the steps of the pool for the most part. Weather has been great and we've had a great time these first couple of days. We'll keep you posted.

What a great start to fall. The kids are enjoying the extra time outdoors now that the summer heat has passed a little. The picture of KJ with his shirt tucked in is also one of my favorites all time. He's more than cool with that style. Cooler than his father will ever be.

Here are a few pictures from a family trip downtown. Ellie is a big fan of her new short hair style, as am I. We got some barbeque and enjoyed spending a little time exploring BIrmingham for awhile. A nice city for the most part when you get to know it. My favorite picture has to be the header - Ellie and I in prison. Look at her playing the past. HA!

Ellie's birthday party was today and what a day it was. Ellie and all of her little friends got to have a garden party and enjoy a little cake too. Hard to believe that she's getting so big so fast. Nothing but love for my princess.

We celebrated the fourth of July this year in Hayden, AL. The kids were fascinated by the fireworks and KJ tried to eat a sparkler. You would have thought that they have been around fireworks thier whole lives with how comfortably they wielded the fire. I have a feeling that I'll have to watch KJ for years to come when it comes to "mans red flower" as the monkey king in The Jungle Book called it.

We let the kids blow a little steam off and run around outside in the wonderful summer heat. I don't know what about the outdoors this time of year most appeals to them..is it the humidity? Is it the heat? Or, perhaps the bugs? It's probably the space. They are big fans of running around with each other and it's fun now that KJ is the age to play that game too.
